A Friend in Need

Mila hears a cry for help from a small fish stuck in seaweed. She and her friend, the crab Kreevi, work together to rescue the fish, overcoming unexpected obstacles.

A Friend in Need

One warm morning, as the sun’s rays gently filtered through the water, illuminating the underwater world, Mila decided to take a stroll through the seaweed forest. This forest was one of her favorite places: tall stalks of seaweed reached up to the surface, and between them swam a variety of fish, creating a mesmerizing scene.

Mila swam among the dense seaweed, enjoying the tranquility of the underwater forest, when she suddenly heard a faint, barely audible sound.

— Help... — came a soft voice.

The mermaid perked up and listened carefully. The voice grew a little louder, and Mila realized that someone was calling for help. Quickly, she looked around, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from.

— Someone is in trouble! — she thought, wasting no time and hurrying to help.

A bit further on, she spotted her friend, Kreevi the crab, resting on the sandy ocean floor near the seaweed. Mila swam over to him and said:

— Kreevi, I think someone is calling for help! Do you hear it too?

Mila and Kreevi listening to the call for help

Kreevi raised his claws and listened intently. He too heard the faint voice coming from the depths of the seaweed forest.

— Yes, Mila, you're right! It sounds like someone really needs our help. Let’s find out what’s going on, — Kreevi said decisively.

Together, they made their way toward the source of the sound, maneuvering through the thick seaweed. After a few minutes, Mila spotted a small fish that had gotten tangled in the strands of seaweed. The fish was desperately trying to break free, but its fins were caught, leaving it completely helpless.

Mila and Kreevi find the trapped fish

— Oh, you poor thing! — exclaimed Mila, swimming closer. — Don’t worry, we’ll help you!

The fish looked at her gratefully and whispered in a trembling voice:

— Thank you... I’m completely trapped. These seaweed strands have wrapped around my fins so tightly that I can’t even move.

Kreevi assessed the situation and offered:

— I’ll try to cut the seaweed with my claws. Hold on tight, little fish, and don’t be scared!

Mila reassured the fish as Kreevi carefully approached the tangled seaweed. With each delicate move of his claw, he tried not to hurt the fish, but the seaweed was incredibly strong and slippery.

— This seaweed is really tough, — Kreevi noted. — But I’m sure we’ll manage!

Kreevi carefully cuts the seaweed

After a few minutes of concentrated effort, Kreevi managed to cut through one of the strands holding the fish’s fins. The fish felt some relief, but a few more strong strands were still wrapped around its tail.

— Wait, I think I know what might help, — Mila said. She decided to use her gift to create magical bubbles that would lift the fish and help free its tail from the seaweed.

Around Mila, bright bubbles appeared, rising upward and lifting the fish, loosening the tension in the seaweed. Thanks to this, Kreevi was able to free the fish’s last trapped fin.

Mila uses magical bubbles to help the fish

— Hooray! We did it! — Mila shouted happily as the fish finally broke free and was able to swim again.

The little fish was incredibly grateful. It smiled at Mila and Kreevi and said, with fins trembling in excitement:

— Thank you, you’re real heroes! Without you, I would have been stuck here forever.

Kreevi laughed and waved a claw dismissively:

— No problem at all! We’re always happy to help our friends. But next time, be more careful and don’t swim too deep into these dense seaweed patches.

Mila gave the fish a warm hug, and they said goodbye, wishing each other luck. Mila and Kreevi returned to their favorite spot on the sandy seabed, proud of their efforts to help the little fish in its time of need.

That day filled their hearts with warmth and joy, and Mila realized that true friendship means always being ready to lend a hand and support each other, even if it takes some effort.
