Bunny and His Shadow: A Magical Game on the Path
Bunny notices his shadow for the first time and gets scared, thinking someone is following him. But later he learns to play with his shadow and realizes it’s his faithful friend.
On a sunny day, little Bunny happily hopped through the forest, enjoying the warmth and light. The forest was filled with bright sunlight, and Bunny joyfully leaped along the sandy path, leaving behind light footprints. Suddenly, he noticed something unusual beside him on the ground. It was a long dark figure that moved every time Bunny took a step.
Bunny stopped and looked closely at the dark silhouette next to him. The figure mirrored every move he made, which frightened him. Bunny felt his heart race. He crouched down in fear and took a step back. However, the figure did the same!
– Who is following me? – Bunny whispered, looking around.
But there was no one. Just him and that strange dark figure on the ground. Bunny decided to run away and see if the strange silhouette would stay with him. He darted down the path, but to his surprise, the shadow followed.
– Leave me alone! – Bunny shouted and ran even faster.
After a long run, Bunny was tired and, exhausted, stopped. He was breathing heavily, but when he looked down, he saw his shadow again. It had also stopped next to him. Then Bunny cried and sat down on the ground, not understanding why this figure was always following him.
A wise Bird happened to fly by and saw how upset Bunny was.
– Why are you crying, Bunny? – she asked, tilting her head.
Bunny sniffled and pointed at his shadow.
– Bird, look! Someone is following me, but I don’t know who it is. I can’t get rid of it no matter where I go.
The Bird laughed and said encouragingly:
– Oh, dear Bunny, that’s just your shadow! It’s always with you when the sun shines. It’s not dangerous and will never leave you.
Bunny stopped crying and looked at the Bird in surprise.
– My shadow? But why does it follow me?
– The shadow is your faithful friend. It simply repeats your movements. If you want, try playing with it. Do something funny, and you’ll see that your shadow will mimic you! – the Bird smiled and flew off to continue her business.
Bunny thought for a moment and decided to give it a try. He stood on his hind legs and lifted one paw to the side. The shadow lifted its paw too! Bunny laughed, not believing his eyes.
– This is fun! – he exclaimed. Now Bunny started to dance, making funny movements and hopping in place while watching his shadow perfectly mimic him. He jumped, twirled, and even tried to strike funny poses, and the shadow always followed suit.
His joyful shouts caught the attention of his friends – Squirrel and Hedgehog, who were nearby picking berries. They ran up to Bunny and asked in surprise:
– What are you doing, Bunny?
Bunny joyfully replied:
– I’m playing with my shadow! It’s always with me, and now I’m not afraid of it. The Bird said that the shadow is my faithful friend!
Squirrel smiled and decided to join the game.
– Let’s all try to dance with our shadows! – she suggested.
The friends began to happily hop and dance on the sunny path, and each noticed their own shadow. Bunny continued to come up with different funny movements, and his friends tried to mimic him, watching as their shadows repeated all their actions.
Hedgehog, trying to replicate Bunny's movements as accurately as possible, even invented a new “shadow dance.” All the friends laughed, twirled joyfully, and jumped, while their shadows obediently mirrored each movement.
When they grew tired, they all sat down on the grass under a tree. Bunny looked at his shadow and smiled, feeling a sense of joy.
– Now I’m not afraid of my shadow at all, – he said, looking at his new friend. – It’s always with me and ready to play when I’m bored.
Squirrel nodded and added:
– Yes, each of us has a shadow that is always nearby, even if we don’t always notice it.
Hedgehog thought for a moment and said:
– I like to think that the shadow is like our reflection, only not in water, but on the ground.
Bunny smiled, grateful to his friends for their support and fun. He realized that sometimes what seems frightening can turn out to be amusing and interesting if you just take a closer look. Now Bunny knew that his shadow was his faithful friend, always with him when the sun shone.
From that day on, Bunny was no longer afraid of his shadow. He often played with it, coming up with new dances and funny movements. And whenever he saw his shadow on the path again, he felt that he was never alone. Because he always had his shadow – his kind and silent friend.
