Cyclops Argo and His Great Help

Cyclops Argo accidentally destroys an important structure on his island and decides to make things right, discovering that friendship and hard work are more important than strength.

Cyclops Argo and His Great Help

On a distant island, where tall mountains touched the sky, lived a one-eyed giant named Argo. He was known as a strong and kind-hearted cyclops, but his clumsiness sometimes led to awkward situations. The forest dwellers respected Argo for his strength, but they often kept their distance, fearing he might accidentally break something. Argo understood this and often worried that his size and strength might unintentionally cause trouble for his friends.

One day, Argo noticed a beautiful tower that the forest dwellers had built by the lake. This was no ordinary tower: birds could take shelter there from the wind and rain, and the forest dwellers loved to gather there to enjoy the view of the lake. The tower was a source of pride for the forest, built by everyone together, with each having an important role in its construction.

Argo approached the tower and said admiringly, “What a beautiful creation! You’ve done a wonderful job!” The forest dwellers, hearing his praise, thanked him. Then one of the rabbits suggested, “Argo, if you’d like, you could help us strengthen the tower. We’re just finishing the top!”

Argo was thrilled to be entrusted with such an important task. “Of course, I’d be happy to help!” Argo replied. He carefully picked up a large stone, but just as he was about to start, the stone slipped from his hands and fell straight into the tower’s wall, knocking it down. The tower tilted and, with a crack, collapsed onto the ground.

“Oh no! What have I done!” cried Argo, looking at the ruins. The forest dwellers were shocked and began to scold Argo: “You destroyed what we spent so long building!” Argo tried to explain, but words wouldn’t come, and he felt terribly ashamed.

“Please forgive me,” he finally said. “I didn’t mean to ruin your work. If you’ll trust me, I’ll help rebuild the tower and do everything I can to make it even stronger.”

At first, the forest dwellers didn’t want to accept his help. But when they saw how truly sorry Argo was, they decided to give him a chance. They gathered together and began to discuss how to build the new tower even better. The forest dwellers showed Argo which stones and branches would best reinforce the walls and how each stone needed to be set to be stable.

The work was hard, and it took several days. Argo listened carefully to the advice and tried to complete each task as carefully as possible. Each day, he understood better that true strength wasn’t just about power; it was about patience and wanting to do something good for others. Argo started to work more slowly, but with greater accuracy.

When the tower was nearly finished, Argo noticed that one of the stones wasn’t secure and might fall. “Wait!” he said, stopping everyone. “This stone needs to be secured, or it will fall.” The forest dwellers were surprised, as Argo had started noticing such things. He carefully set the stone so it held firm in the wall, and only then did everyone continue their work.

A few days later, the tower was complete. It now looked even better than before. The forest dwellers held a celebration in honor of the completed tower and invited Argo to join them. “You’ve shown that you’re not only strong but also patient and careful,” they told him.

Since then, Argo became a beloved friend of the forest. He often helped his friends, but now he did so calmly and carefully. The forest dwellers knew they could count on him in tough times. And Argo, in turn, understood that being strong wasn’t just about being fast and powerful. Strength also meant being patient, cautious, and willing to work alongside others.

Moral: True strength isn’t only in power but in patience, admitting mistakes, and working together with friends.
