Journey to Ancient India

Lena, Petya, Masha, and Artyom sat in a small camp on the edge of the dense Indian jungle. They were all excited — a real adventure awaited them. Professor Skvorcov had just informed them that they were going on an excavation to a mysterious temple that, according to the locals, hid many secrets.

“Ready?” asked the professor, adjusting his glasses. “In this temple, you’ll find not only archaeological discoveries but also mysterious traps. And don't forget, there could be dangers in the jungle.”

“We’re ready!” Lena replied confidently. “This is going to be a real adventure!”

After a brief discussion, the team set off, following narrow paths between massive trees and exotic plants. As they walked, curious monkeys and colorful birds watched every step, and the tropical air was filled with the scents of spices and flowers.

After several hours, they reached the ruins of the temple. It looked impressive yet mysterious. The entrance to the temple was hidden behind thick vines and tall trees.

“This is definitely the one,” said the professor, looking at the ancient stones and architectural elements. “We need to be very careful. Ancient Indian temples weren’t just filled with wonders, but also traps designed to protect sacred places.”

The children carefully examined the old walls, which were covered with strange drawings and symbols. Lena jumped up to one of the images on the stone.

“Look! These aren’t just patterns!” she exclaimed. “It looks like a puzzle! Maybe it will help us open the door to the main hall?”

Petya ran to another part of the wall and began fiddling with a stone.

“Maybe it’s some kind of hidden button?” he suggested. “Oh, I can’t get it off!”

Masha and Artyom joined in, and soon they discovered a secret mechanism. When Masha pressed one of the figures, the entrance to the temple suddenly opened, and they stepped inside.

Inside, it was dark and damp. The walls smelled musty, and the air was heavy and stale. They were greeted by ancient statues of gods, and in the corner lay strange remains of animals.

“These are some kind of ancient animals!” Masha said as she saw huge skeletal structures. “Look, it seems they helped in the construction of the temple.”

“Very interesting,” said the professor. “These animals might have played an important role in rituals. We’ll need to study their remains more carefully to understand their significance.”

The children continued to explore the temple until they found mysterious doors in the center of the ancient hall, adorned with images of animals. On the walls beside the door were symbols carved, similar to those they had seen outside.
