Pea in the Meadow: Adventures of Squirrel and Bunny

On the edge of the forest, where the sun rays touched the grass and bushes, Squirrel and Bunny were playing. They were running around the meadow when Squirrel noticed small green peas that someone had dropped. She stopped and looked at them in amazement.

– Look, Bunny, peas! – she exclaimed. – Let’s try to grow them into peas!

Bunny looked curiously at the green peas.

– How do we do that? – he asked. – We’ve never grown anything before!

Squirrel jumped up with joy.

– We need to plant them in the ground, water them, and take care of them! Let’s give it a try; it will be fun!

Bunny was happy to support his friend’s idea. They chose a small patch at the edge of the meadow where the soil was soft and loose, and began to dig small holes. Squirrel carefully placed one pea in each hole, and then together with Bunny, they covered them with soil.

– Now we need to water them, – Bunny reminded. – But we don’t have any water here!

Squirrel thought for a moment.

– Then let’s go to the stream and get some water! – she suggested.

So the friends set off to the forest stream. They found some small leaves, shaped them into a little boat, and carefully scooped up water. When they returned to the meadow, Squirrel and Bunny gently watered the soil where they had planted the peas.

The next day, they came to check on their peas. At first, nothing had changed, and Bunny felt a little sad.

– What if they don’t grow? – he whispered softly, looking at the ground.

Squirrel smiled and encouraged him.

– We need to be patient, Bunny! Plants need time to grow. Let’s come every day and take care of them!

The friends began to visit their little garden every day. They watered the soil, removed leaves and grass around, so the seedlings had more space. And one day, after a few days, tiny green sprouts appeared from the ground!

– Look, look, Squirrel! They’ve started to grow! – Bunny exclaimed happily.

– Yes! We are real gardeners! – Squirrel replied proudly.

With each passing day, the sprouts grew taller and stronger. They developed little leaves and then small white flowers. Squirrel and Bunny were thrilled to watch their plants turn into real pea bushes.

A little more time passed, and tiny green pods appeared on the bushes. With each day, they grew bigger and juicier. Finally, Squirrel decided it was time to harvest.

– Bunny, now we can treat everyone to peas! – she said. – Let’s call our friends!

Bunny happily agreed. He ran to Fox, Hedgehog, and Bird, inviting them to the meadow.

When the friends arrived, Squirrel proudly showed them her pea bushes, on which ripe pods hung. She and Bunny began to carefully gather the pods and open them, taking out the sweet peas.

– Wow, you grew peas all by yourselves? – Fox exclaimed, trying a pea.

– Yes! It wasn’t easy, but we watered and cared for our plants every day, – Bunny replied proudly.

All the friends enjoyed the peas and praised Squirrel and Bunny for their hard work. Bird said they were now real gardeners who knew how to take care of plants.

Squirrel and Bunny were proud of their achievement and happy to share their harvest with their friends. They promised each other that they would continue to learn new things and would definitely grow many more plants in their meadow.
