Squirrel and the Big Nut: A Lesson in Support on the Forest Path
Squirrel tries to reach a large nut on a high tree but fails. Her friends support her, and together they find a way to get the nuts. Squirrel learns to overcome failures with the help of friends.
On a warm autumn day, Squirrel was happily hopping along a forest path, watching the yellow and red leaves gently swirl down to the ground. Suddenly, she noticed a huge tree with the largest nut she had ever seen hanging at the very top. The nut gleamed in the sunlight, tempting her with its magnificent appearance.
“Wow! What a nut! If I can get it, it will be a real forest trophy,” Squirrel said to herself, already imagining how her friends would envy her.
She looked around to make sure no one else had spotted the nut and hurriedly began to climb the tree trunk. But the tree was tall and smooth, and the branches got thinner as she climbed higher. Squirrel climbed higher and higher until she was almost directly beneath the nut. She was so close, but suddenly her paws began to slip, and unable to hold on, Squirrel slid down.
Stunned, she fell onto the soft carpet of fallen leaves. Squirrel slowly got up and looked sadly up at the tree. The nut was still in place, but the way to it had proven too difficult.
“I couldn't do it...” Squirrel whispered, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. She sat down under the tree and buried her nose in her paws, feeling engulfed by despair.
At that moment, her friends – Bunny and Hedgehog – passed by. Noticing that Squirrel was sad, they immediately approached her to find out what had happened.
“Squirrel, what happened? Why are you so sad?” Bunny asked, sitting down beside her.
Squirrel looked up and pointed at the nut.
“I tried to reach that nut, but I couldn't. I wanted it so much, but it's just too high,” she replied sadly.
Hedgehog hugged Squirrel, trying to cheer her up.
“Don't be upset, Squirrel. Sometimes we don't succeed on our first try. That doesn’t mean you can't get the nut. You just need help,” he said, smiling encouragingly.
Bunny suggested:
“Let’s try to get the nut together! We are your friends and are always ready to help.”
Squirrel felt a little better hearing her friends’ supportive words. The three of them began to think about how they could get the nut. Suddenly, Bunny spotted a long branch lying nearby.
“What if we use this branch to nudge the nut and knock it down?” he suggested.
Hedgehog supported the idea.
“Yes, that might work! Let’s give it a try,” he said, picking up the branch.
They took the branch and began to work together. Bunny held one end, Squirrel held the other, and Hedgehog, standing on Bunny's shoulders, carefully directed the branch upward to reach the nut.
After several attempts, they finally reached the nut. Squirrel carefully nudged it, and it fell right at their feet.
“Hooray! We did it!” Squirrel exclaimed joyfully, lifting the nut. It was even bigger than she had imagined.
Hedgehog and Bunny joyfully hugged Squirrel, and all three laughed heartily, celebrating their success.
“Thank you, friends! Without your help, I could never have reached this nut,” Squirrel said, feeling her sadness disappear, replaced by gratitude and happiness.
Bunny smiled and said:
“This was a team success! When we are together, we can tackle any challenge!”
Hedgehog added:
“Yes, and even if something doesn’t work out on the first try, that’s no reason to give up. We will always help each other.”
Squirrel looked at the nut and realized that its value now meant more to her than just a treat. This nut had become a symbol of their friendship and a reminder of how important it is to have support from friends in tough times.
From that day on, Squirrel understood that even if something doesn’t work out right away, it’s always okay to ask for help. The friends promised each other that next time when one of them faced difficulties, they would be there to help overcome any obstacles.
