The Brave Little Rooster Chi – A Chinese Fairy Tale for 2-3 Year Olds about Attention and Care

Short Description: This fairy tale tells the story of the brave little rooster Chi, who, noticing a strong storm, woke up all the farm residents to take shelter and avoid a flood. A story about attentiveness, care, and courage.

In a valley, there was a farm where a rooster named Chi lived. Every morning, he woke everyone up with his loud "Cock-a-doodle-doo!", and the farm came to life. The animals got up to graze, and the farmer started his daily tasks. But Chi was not just an alarm clock – he loved watching everything around him and always noticed when something was wrong.

One evening, as the farm was getting ready for the night, Chi noticed that the sky in the west was getting dark and the wind was picking up. He lifted his head and saw lightning illuminating the clouds in the distance. "This is not just rain," he thought. "It's a storm. If the water floods the fields, the animals sleeping outside could be in danger."

The little rooster realized that he needed to act. He flew up to the roof of the chicken coop and loudly crowed, "Cock-a-doodle-doo! Get up! A storm is coming!"

Rooster Chi warns the farm about the storm

At first, the animals didn't pay attention. But Chi didn't give up. He crowed even louder and added, "If you stay here, the water could flood the fields!" His voice woke up the dog, who, sensing the approaching rain, barked. Behind him, the chickens, sheep, and even the cow woke up.

All the animals began to move towards the barn, which was situated on higher ground. Chi himself hopped from place to place, guiding the smallest ones – the chicks and lambs – into the shelter. When the last of them were safely inside, the storm unleashed itself upon the farm.

The rain poured down like from a bucket, turning the roads into streams of water. The fields were flooded, but the barn where the animals had taken shelter remained dry and safe. The farm residents looked at Chi and said, "If it weren't for you, Chi, we could have lost many of us."

When the storm passed, the sun rose again, and the farm came to life once more. Everyone thanked Chi for his attentiveness and bravery. "You are not just our alarm clock," they said. "You are our protector."

From then on, Chi became a symbol of care and responsibility. His example showed that even the smallest can do great things.
