The Dance of Shadows on the Moon

Zumi travels to the Moon to study its long shadows. There, he puts on an amazing shadow show, learning how light and shadows work on the lunar surface.

The Dance of Shadows on the Moon

Zumi, the little space explorer, put on his spacesuit and prepared for landing. His spaceship softly touched down on the gray surface of the Moon, and a few minutes later, Zumi opened the hatch and stepped outside. He looked around: a vast plain dotted with craters stretched endlessly, resembling a giant field dusted with flour.

“Wow! The Moon is so huge and quiet,” Zumi whispered, feeling very small in this endless expanse.

He took a step forward and noticed how his shadow stretched several meters long. It was so sharp, as if it had been painted with a brush. Zumi was amazed and stopped to take a closer look.

Lunar surface

“Why is my shadow so long?” he wondered. “I’ve never seen anything like this back on Earth!”

Zumi raised his arms, and his shadow looked like a giant tree. Then he bent down and turned his shadow into a round rock. It was so much fun that he couldn’t stop smiling.

To learn more, Zumi turned on his tablet and found an article about the Moon. He read aloud: “On the Moon, there’s no atmosphere to scatter light. Because of this, sunlight falls directly, creating such long and sharp shadows!”

“Wow!” exclaimed Zumi. “So, the shadows are so long on the Moon because everything is different here!”

He decided to conduct an experiment. Zumi gathered a few rocks and placed them on the surface. Then he began moving them around, watching how the shadows changed. One rock looked like a tower, another like a needle.

Long shadows on the Moon

“This is like magic!” Zumi said, watching how sunlight turned simple shapes into something amazing.

But he didn’t stop there. Zumi began moving himself, creating figures with his shadow. He pretended to play the guitar, then transformed into a giant space dragon. His shadow stretched dozens of meters, and Zumi felt like a true artist.

Shadow show

Inspired, he decided to put on a real shadow show. Zumi started jumping, waving his arms and legs, and then used rocks and sticks to create even more complex figures. He built a stage out of lunar materials, and his shadows turned into rockets, stars, and even a portrait of himself.

“Science is amazing!” Zumi said, smiling. “The Moon is a fantastic place for games and discoveries.”

It seemed as if even the Moon appreciated his efforts. The shadows, almost alive, danced under the sunlight. Zumi felt not just like an explorer but a true artist of space.

Zumi on the Moon

When the show was over, he sat on a rock to rest and looked at the Earth glowing in the distance. “How wonderful that I could be here,” he said. “Even on the Moon, you can find something amazing.”

He made a note in his journal: “The Moon is a place where light and shadows become true art.”
