Long ago, at the base of towering cliffs, lived a tortoise. She was wise, but in her heart, she carried a dream: the tortoise wanted to fly. Every day she watched eagles gliding high in the sky and sighed, “How I wish I could be up there, among the clouds!”

One day, an eagle landed nearby. His powerful wings cast a shadow over the ground, and the tortoise gazed at him in awe. “Eagle, you are the mightiest and proudest of birds. Can you help me fly?” she asked. The eagle was surprised: “You are made for the earth, tortoise. Why do you want to be in the sky?”

“I want to see the world from above, as you do,” the tortoise replied. The eagle thought for a moment and said, “Very well. I will grant your wish, but be prepared for the consequences.”

He grasped the tortoise in his strong talons and soared high into the sky. The wind rushed around her, and beneath her stretched vast valleys and rivers. “How beautiful!” the tortoise exclaimed. But soon, she felt the weight of her shell pulling her down, and the wind grew too strong. Fear overwhelmed her. “Let me go, eagle! I’m afraid!”

The eagle descended and gently placed the tortoise back on the ground. “Now you’ve seen the world from above, but tell me: What did you feel?” The tortoise thought deeply and answered, “I realized that the sky is not for me. It’s beautiful, but I belong to the earth, and here I feel safest.”

From that day on, the tortoise no longer envied the birds. She began to enjoy her own world – the soft grass, the cool rivers, and the safety of her shell. The tortoise understood that everyone is made for their own place in this world, and it’s important to value what you have.

Moral of the story: Everyone has their own strengths and purpose. Embracing who you are is the path to true happiness.
