How the Little Plane Helped the Forest Stream
The little plane, Screwy, notices that the forest stream has almost dried up. Together with his friends, he decides to clear the stream’s path, showing how friendship and teamwork can help nature.
Early in the morning, as the sun began to rise over the forest, the little plane Screwy was flying over the green treetops, enjoying the cool air. His wings caught the light breezes, and he buzzed cheerfully as he flew around trees and bushes. Screwy loved watching the forest animals and seeing nature wake up.
But today, something was different. Flying over the Forest Stream at Rocky Cliff, Screwy noticed that the stream had almost dried up. He looked closely and saw that the streambed had become shallow, and in some places, it was completely dry. Only a few small drops glistened on the rocks, a faint reminder of how the water used to flow here.
— Oh no! What’s happened to our stream? — Screwy exclaimed, circling worriedly over the streambed. — Just recently, cool water flowed here, and animals would come to drink and cool off.
Screwy decided to find out what had happened and to help if he could. He descended and landed next to the streambed, carefully avoiding the dry stones. On the bank sat his friend, Bob the Beaver, who also looked concerned.
— Hello, Bob! Do you know what happened to our stream? Why is there so little water? — asked Screwy as he carefully approached his friend.
Bob sighed and nodded:
— Yes, Screwy, I noticed it too. It seems that the stream has been blocked by branches and leaves that the wind has blown in. Now the water can’t flow freely, and the stream has almost dried up.
Screwy thought for a moment. He knew he couldn’t clear the streambed alone, but he had friends who could help. He decided to gather a team to bring the forest stream back to life.
First, he flew to Busha the Squirrel, who lived in a nearby tree. Busha was always quick at gathering and sorting nuts and twigs, so Screwy thought her agility would be helpful in clearing the stream.
— Busha, we need your help! The forest stream has almost dried up because of the branches and leaves, and we can’t do it without you, — explained Screwy when he landed on a branch next to the squirrel.
Busha nodded eagerly:
— Of course, Screwy! I love helping my friends and nature. Let’s get started right away!
The next member of their team was Timmy the Hedgehog, who loved rolling through the forest, carrying things on his spines. Screwy knew that his sharp spines would come in handy for picking up the dry leaves and debris stuck in the streambed.
When the team was assembled, they headed to the forest stream. Bob immediately started working along the bank, pulling out large branches that were stuck around bends in the streambed. Busha the Squirrel darted along the stream, pulling out thin sticks and twigs that were blocking the water from flowing freely.
Screwy flew above the team, encouraging each one and watching to make sure no one was left behind. He pointed out where to clear blockages and guided his friends to the most challenging spots. Timmy the Hedgehog used his spines to pick up even the smallest twigs and leaves stuck between the rocks.
Gradually, the work progressed, and the stream began to come back to life. Water started to trickle down the cleared areas, gently gurgling and sparkling in the sunlight. Soon, the whole team noticed that the flow was becoming stronger.
When the last blockage was cleared, the forest stream began to flow fully again, joyfully bubbling over the rocks and bringing coolness to all the forest animals.
The animals looked proudly at their work. Screwy, pleased with the result, thanked each friend for their help.
— Thank you, friends! Today, we proved that together, we can overcome any challenge. The stream is alive again, and all of nature is grateful to us for it!
From that day on, the forest stream became a symbol of friendship and teamwork. And Screwy and his friends knew that they could always help nature by coming together.
