My Little Boys Sleep: A Heartfelt Bedtime Poem
A touching poem about children's sleep, capturing dreams and limitless possibilities for every child. Let the children sleep peacefully, ready for new adventures.
At last, after wandering half the earth,
My boys now sleep in quiet mirth.
Sleep has claimed the land of green-eyed dreams,
My messy treasures sleep in peace, it seems,
Little snub-nosed breaths come soft and light.
So calm they sleep, so good and dear,
No better boys exist, I swear.
Blankets thrown to the side in haste,
Green ointment dots on knees misplaced,
Glow on scraped legs in the night air.
And tomorrow… If only I could know in advance
Where their unpredictable paths may glance.
To skip an art class without a care,
Simply stroll to space, on a dare,
And journey off without a plan.
The clock strikes softly in tired chimes.
Earth is at peace — the children sleep fine.
My brave little boys, sleeping tight,
My Titovs, my Gagarins, in quiet flight,
Their little snub-nosed breaths so light.
