On the way back, the rabbit ran as fast as he could. But as he approached the finish line, the hedgehog jumped out of the bushes and crossed it first. “How?!” the rabbit exclaimed in disbelief. “I’m faster than you!”

The hedgehog smiled and said, “Sometimes it’s not speed that matters but cleverness. You’re too full of yourself, rabbit. Maybe this is a lesson for you?”

From then on, the rabbit stopped mocking other animals. And the hedgehog became a hero of the forest, admired for his intelligence and resourcefulness.
