The Noisy Forest

In a small town lived two friends — Misha and Katya. They loved listening to stories about the magical forest where every little animal makes its own special sound, but no one knew where these sounds came from. Misha and Katya were so eager to learn more that one day, gathering their courage, they set off into this mysterious forest.

As soon as they entered the forest, its sounds surrounded them immediately. Ahead, someone was quietly clicking and hiding in the bushes. It was a hedgehog. Katya stopped and listened: "Click-click!" — the sound echoed again. The hedgehog sniffed angrily with its nose and clicked its spines, as if saying, "Don't come too close!" Misha and Katya laughed, realizing that each forest inhabitant communicates in its own way.

As the friends walked further, they heard a soft "tap-tap" overhead. Misha looked up and saw a little woodpecker pecking at a tree with its strong beak. "Tap-tap!" — it seemed to be greeting the forest guests. "He’s probably looking for food that way," Katya guessed. The kids began to listen more carefully to every sound around them.

A little later, deep in the forest, the friends heard a loud "hoo-hoo!" It was an owl sitting on a branch, watching them with big eyes. "He's probably guarding the forest from strangers and warning everyone about us," Misha said. The owl blinked and softly repeated, "Hoo-hoo!" — as if confirming their guess.

So, Misha and Katya spent the whole day listening to the noisy forest. They learned that each little animal has its own special voice, and through these sounds, the forest seemed to be telling them its stories. In the evening, the friends returned home, but now, whenever they heard a click, tap, or "hoo-hoo" in the forest, they already knew who was greeting them.

Since then, Misha and Katya often came to the forest to listen to its secret sounds and greet their new friends — the noisy forest inhabitants, each of whom revealed something new and amazing to them.
