Clean Meadow: Hedgehog, Squirrel, and Bunny Learn to Care for Nature

On a clear, sunny day, Hedgehog, Squirrel, and Bunny were walking through the forest. They laughed, played, and enjoyed the silence and freshness of the morning woods. Every leaf and twig sparkled in the sunlight, and the forest seemed like a magical place filled with life and joy.

As they walked along the forest path, the friends chatted and discussed their favorite places to play. Suddenly, around a bend, they discovered a small meadow hidden among the trees. It was surrounded by birches and pines, with bushes and low grasses growing in the center. This place was so secluded and quiet that it seemed perfect for their gatherings and games.

“What a wonderful place!” exclaimed Squirrel, jumping through the grass. “We could meet here every day to relax and play.”

But as they looked around, the friends noticed that the meadow was overgrown with dry leaves, twigs, and small litter blown in by the wind. There were many old branches, dry grasses, and even a few pieces of paper that had accidentally been brought here by the wind.

Bunny, moving closer to a pile of dry leaves, sighed:

“It’s a shame that it’s so dirty here. I would love to run around and play, but it’s no fun on such a messy meadow.”

Hedgehog, noticing that the meadow really needed cleaning, smiled and suggested:

“Guys, what if we tidy up the meadow? We can clean up the trash, remove the dry leaves and twigs, and then we’ll have a real place for meetings and games!”

Squirrel nodded happily, and Bunny enthusiastically supported the idea.

“Let’s start right now!” he exclaimed. “I’m sure we can do it together!”

So the friends decided to divide the work to clean the meadow. They agreed that Squirrel would gather the leaves and pile them up, Bunny would handle the twigs and stack them separately, while Hedgehog would clean up everything else – the trash, papers, and other small items that had accidentally found their way to the meadow.

Each of them took on their tasks with enthusiasm and joy, feeling that together they were doing something important. Squirrel diligently collected the leaves and carefully piled them up, imagining how cozy it would be here in a few days. She enjoyed feeling useful and was delighted to see the meadow getting cleaner by the minute.

Bunny skillfully gathered the twigs, making sure not to miss any. He placed them into a small pile and smiled from time to time, looking at his friends. It felt like they were working as a real team, which filled him with pride and joy.

Meanwhile, Hedgehog focused on picking up papers and other trash that had ended up in the meadow. He made sure that nothing went unnoticed and tried to gather everything as thoroughly as possible. Hedgehog understood how important it was to clean up litter and how it hindered the forest dwellers from finding safe places to live.

When the work was almost done, the friends stepped back a few paces to admire the result. The meadow had transformed – it was now clean, fresh, and bright. The leaves that had previously covered it lay in a neat pile at the edge, and all the twigs had been removed. Now they could see the soft grass, which looked green and fluffy under the sun’s rays.

“We worked well!” said Squirrel, proudly looking at the meadow. “Now it looks so beautiful!”

But they didn’t want to stop there. Bunny suggested adding some pretty stones and large leaves around to create an even cozier atmosphere.

“Let’s turn this meadow into a real resting place!” he proposed.

Hedgehog supported the idea and brought several smooth stones he had found by the stream. They arranged the stones around the edges, creating a beautiful circle, while Squirrel added some bright flowers and twigs to make the meadow look even more festive.

When the work was completed, the friends sat on the soft grass to rest and enjoy the result. The sun shone brightly, and the whole meadow was bathed in its light. The sounds of singing birds filled the air, and the friends felt that they had done something very important and useful.

“I’m so glad we decided to clean up here,” said Squirrel, feeling a warm sense of satisfaction. “Now the meadow is not only more beautiful, but it can also be a home for small forest creatures.”

Bunny, stroking the green grass, added:

“Yes, and now we know how important it is to maintain cleanliness. The forest is a home not only for us but also for all the animals and plants. If everyone cleans up after themselves and protects nature, our forest will always remain beautiful and clean.”

Hedgehog, agreeing with his friends, smiled and said:

“Now this place is not only for us but for everyone who loves and respects the forest. Let’s promise to keep an eye on the meadow and always leave it clean.”

From that day on, Hedgehog, Squirrel, and Bunny often visited their meadow. They not only played and rested there but also cleaned up from time to time to maintain its cleanliness. The meadow became their favorite meeting spot and a symbol of their friendship, responsibility, and love for nature.

Now every forest dweller passing by saw their meadow and smiled, knowing that there are those in the forest who care about its cleanliness and beauty. And the friends knew that they had done something important and were ready to pass this lesson on to anyone who wanted to join their cause.
