How to Make Natural Paints from Vegetables and Fruits — Scientific Adventures in the Kitchen

One day, Petya and Lena decided to conduct an interesting experiment right in the kitchen. Instead of using regular paints, they decided to try making natural paints from vegetables and fruits. Beets, carrots, spinach, and blueberries — that was all they needed to get started!

Petya was the older one, so he took charge of the preparation. He brought knives, pots, and old jars to store the paints they would make.

— Let's start with the beets, — suggested Petya. — We’ll get a bright red paint from them!

Petya cut the beets into small pieces and placed them in a pot with a little water. He put the pot on the stove to heat the beets, and soon a rich red juice began to form.

— Look at this beautiful color, — said Petya, showing Lena the pot with juice. — This paint will be perfect for drawing!

Now Lena took the carrot. She carefully peeled it and cut it into small pieces. Once the carrot was ready, Petya put it in a pot with water and placed it on the stove. After a while, bright orange juice started to come out of the carrot.

— Look at all these colors! We can paint with different shades, — said Lena, happily admiring the result.

Next, Petya suggested using spinach for green paint. Lena tore the spinach leaves into small pieces and placed them in a pot with water. After a while, the spinach juice turned a rich green, ready for use in painting.

But their experiment didn’t stop there. Lena suggested adding blueberries to make blue paint. She carefully mashed the berries, and rich blue juice began to flow out.

Petya and Lena couldn’t wait to try their new paints. They grabbed brushes and started painting. Each paint turned out to be bright and natural, and most importantly — completely safe for kids.

— We made natural paints from ordinary foods! This is so exciting, — said Petya, enthusiastically painting a picture with the red beet juice.

When their paintings were finished, Petya and Lena looked at their work. They realized that their experiment with natural paints had been not only fun but also useful. Now they knew how to create safe and eco-friendly paints using common products that are always available at home.
