The Road to Ra's Sun — An Egyptian Legend of Saving the World

A fairy tale about how children found an ancient scroll, traveled to the Temple of Karnak, and helped the sun god Ra save the world from eternal darkness.

The Road to Ra's Sun — An Egyptian Legend of Saving the World

Deep in the heart of Egypt, in a small village at the foot of ancient ruins, lived two friends — Amani and Zid. They often played among the sand dunes, dreaming of one day finding the treasures of the ancient pharaohs. One day, while exploring the ruins near a temple, they stumbled upon an ancient scroll hidden in a crack in the wall.

The scroll was covered in hieroglyphs, and in the center was an image of a shining boat sailing across a golden sun. "This looks like the symbol of Ra, the sun god," Amani whispered. Zid carefully unrolled the scroll, and at that moment, a bright light burst forth. A tall man in golden armor with the head of a falcon and eyes glowing like the sun appeared before them. It was Ra.

"Who dares awaken me?" he asked. Summoning her courage, Amani replied, "We found the scroll by accident. Forgive us." Ra looked at the children and said, "Do not apologize, children. You awakened me at the right moment. The world is in danger: the forces of darkness seek to eclipse the sun and bring eternal night. Will you help me stop them?"

Amani and Zid agreed. "Then follow me," said Ra, and his boat, surrounded by golden light, appeared before them. "We will travel to the Temple of Karnak, where the keys to light are kept. But trials await us along the way."

The first trial awaited them at the banks of the Nile. Before the boat, a giant crocodile emerged, speaking in a deep voice: "To proceed, you must solve my riddle: What grows bigger when you share it with others?" Zid smiled, "That's joy." The crocodile nodded, and the boat continued its journey.

The second trial was more challenging. As they approached the Temple of Karnak, swirling sandstorms appeared, with voices calling to the children from within. "Do not listen to them," warned Ra. "It is a trick." Amani took Zid's hand, and together they bravely walked through the storm, ignoring the whispers. When the storm cleared, the entrance to the temple stood before them.

Inside the temple, the final trial awaited. Before them stood a massive obelisk covered in hieroglyphs. Ra explained, "You must find the correct sun symbol. It will reveal the secret of eternal light." The children examined the obelisk carefully and noticed one symbol shimmering as if reflecting light. Zid pressed it, and the obelisk opened a hidden passage.

Inside the passage was a golden crystal radiating light. "This is the Heart of the Sun," said Ra. "With it, I can restore balance." But as soon as Ra took the crystal, shadows emerged from the darkness. "They want to consume the light!" Zid shouted. Ra raised the crystal, and its light drove the shadows away.

Light from the temple rose into the sky, illuminating the entire desert. Ra turned to the children and said, "You have proven your courage and wisdom. Thanks to you, the world will be protected." He gave each of them a small sun-shaped amulet. "These amulets will remind you that light always triumphs over darkness."

Amani and Zid returned home as heroes. They never forgot their adventure or Ra's lesson that even the smallest actions can save the world.
