Playground Games: Vanya Learns to Swing
Vanya overcomes his fear of heights and learns to swing with the support of his friends, finding joy and confidence in his new achievements.
On a sunny day, Vanya and his friends went to the playground near their preschool. It was their favorite place, full of fun slides, swings, and other amusements. Vanya watched with interest as Pasha and Liza swung happily, soaring high into the air. Smiles never left their faces, and it seemed like they weren’t afraid at all.
Vanya also wanted to try swinging, but every time he approached the swings, he felt a slight fear rising inside him. His hands began to tremble, and he stepped back, worrying that he might fall or not be able to hold on. Pasha noticed this and approached Vanya. "Don't be afraid, Vanya! It's not scary at all. I was scared at first too, but then I got used to it," Pasha said, showing him how to sit properly on the swing.
Vanya decided that it was time to overcome his fear. He sat on the swing, holding tightly onto the chains, and tried to push off the ground with his feet. The swing moved slightly, but even this gentle motion made Vanya dizzy. "You're doing great! You're already taking the first step!" Liza encouraged him, seeing him trying to overcome his fears. Vanya smiled, feeling the support of his friends.
At first, he moved slowly, trying to get used to the swing. His feet lightly touched the ground, and every time he swung forward, it felt like he was about to soar into the sky. Pasha and Liza watched him carefully, offering tips. "Look, you need to push off a little harder! The higher you swing, the more fun it is," Pasha suggested, showing him how to do it.
With each new push, Vanya felt his fear gradually fading, giving way to joy and a sense of freedom. He no longer thought about the possibility of falling but began to notice how high he was swinging and how the breeze pleasantly brushed his face. He even managed to close his eyes for a moment, imagining himself as a bird flying high in the sky.
After some time, Vanya was swinging confidently as high as Pasha and Liza. He laughed loudly, feeling how much he enjoyed swinging higher and higher. His friends were happy for him too, as they saw how Vanya had overcome his fear and became more confident. Vanya felt ready to try new things and not stop at what he had achieved.
When they all left the playground together, Vanya told his friends that he now wanted to learn something new. He couldn't shake the feeling of joy from taking that step forward and managing to overcome his fears. This feeling gave him strength and confidence.
Moral: By overcoming our fears, we discover new joys and opportunities. With the support of friends, it becomes easier to handle difficulties and become braver. True friends are always ready to help take the first step.
