Hermes and the Lost Traveler
Hermes finds a lost traveler in the forest and helps him find his way home, sharing funny and exciting stories of his own journeys along the way.
One evening, as the sun began to hide behind the trees, Hermes—the god of travel and pathways—was walking through a dense forest. This forest was vast and full of secrets, with dozens of trails twisting and turning, each leading to unexpected places.
Hermes, always eager for new discoveries, walked with a light smile, enjoying the silence and peace. But suddenly, he heard footsteps and then an anxious voice. Soon, a man appeared before him, looking worried and somewhat disoriented.
The traveler stopped upon seeing Hermes and sighed in relief:
— Oh, I finally found someone! I’m lost in this forest and can’t find my way home. Everything looks the same, and I’ve passed the same spots several times.
Hermes looked kindly at the traveler and said:
— Don’t worry, my friend. I know this forest like the back of my hand, and I’ll help you find the way out. Let’s walk together.
The traveler nodded gratefully and walked beside Hermes, feeling safer with the god of travel at his side.
— And so you won’t be bored, I’ll tell you a few stories from my journeys, — Hermes offered, and the traveler, intrigued, happily agreed.
As they walked along winding paths, Hermes began to tell his stories:
— Once, I had to travel across high mountains, so tall that clouds rested on their peaks. It was cold, but the path opened up before me because of my speed. I met people searching for their way and helped them, just as I’m helping you now.
The traveler listened intently, imagining the towering mountains and steep paths. He was almost no longer thinking of his own predicament, captivated by Hermes’ tales.
Then Hermes pointed to a hidden corner of the forest and said:
— Here, between these trees, I once helped a traveler who had lost his compass. I showed him the way, and he continued on to a distant city. Sometimes, even the simplest things, like a signpost or a guide, can save a traveler’s life.
They continued walking, and Hermes shared more stories, making the journey exciting and pleasant. The traveler felt calm beside Hermes, knowing he wasn’t alone in this vast forest.
Finally, the traveler noticed that the trees began to thin, and familiar landmarks appeared in the distance. His heart beat faster, and he joyfully said to Hermes:
— Thank you, Hermes! Without your help, I wouldn’t have made it out of the forest. I was so afraid I wouldn’t find my way home.
Hermes smiled and replied:
— Always remember that every path has its wisdom, and every experience makes us stronger. Now that you know the way, you can walk confidently and not fear the unknown.
The traveler thanked Hermes and, with a sigh of relief, set off toward home. He would always remember this evening and the wise words Hermes had shared. Meanwhile, Hermes returned to the forest, ready to continue his own adventures and perhaps help the next lost traveler find his way among the many forest paths.
From that day on, the traveler always remembered his encounter with Hermes. Every time he set out on a journey, he felt confident, knowing he was not alone and that there was always someone who could help him find his way.
