Where’s My Sandwich?
Ilya finds a mysterious note about his missing sandwich. Together with his friend, he sets out to find the "thief," leaving clues along the way. In the end, they make a new friend.
That day started as usual for Ilya. He packed his school bag, making sure to include the sandwich his mom had prepared for him. But something unusual awaited him after the third lesson when it was time for the big break.
When Ilya opened his bag to get his sandwich, he was surprised to find a small note instead. On it, written in neat handwriting, were the words: "Hi! I borrowed your sandwich by accident. It was delicious! If you want to know who I am, leave a note in your bag." Ilya was stunned.
“Nikita! You won’t believe this!” he turned to his friend sitting beside him. “Someone took my sandwich and left this note!”
Nikita looked at the note and was immediately intrigued:
“This is a real mystery! Let’s write a reply; maybe this 'someone' will reveal who they are.”
The boys decided to write back. Ilya wrote, “Whoever you are, tell me how you found my bag?” He put the note back in his bag, leaving it in the same spot in the classroom, hoping the "culprit" would read it.
The next day, during the break, Ilya checked his bag again. This time, there was a new note: “I accidentally took your bag, thinking it was mine. Thanks for the sandwich! Let’s meet by the big tree after school.” Ilya looked at Nikita, surprised:
“This is our chance! Let’s go to the tree after school and find out who it is.”
After class, they headed to the big tree in the schoolyard. Time passed slowly, but eventually, a boy approached, looking a little embarrassed. When he saw Ilya and Nikita, he gave a shy smile.
“Hi! I’m Stepa. I accidentally took your bag. We’re in the same class, and I thought it was mine. I left the note to thank you for the tasty sandwich,” Stepa admitted, looking down.
Ilya smiled and replied:
“This was really interesting! You have no idea how much Nikita and I were wondering who it could be.”
Nikita couldn’t help but add:
“We even thought of making it a detective case to find you!”
All three laughed, and to Ilya’s surprise, he realized he wasn’t upset with Stepa; instead, he was glad this happened. They agreed to meet again at the next break, and Ilya promised to bring a new sandwich for them to share.
The next day, Ilya put another sandwich in his bag, but this time he added a note himself: “For my friend Stepa. Enjoy!” The friends gathered in the classroom and shared their sandwiches, chatting about different stories and school events.
From that day on, Ilya, Nikita, and Stepa became best friends. They often met in the schoolyard, making up new funny stories. Ilya realized that sometimes strange and unexpected events can lead to true friendship.
And every time one of them brought a sandwich, they shared it, remembering this funny story and their first shared secret.
